MCP & API

A PDF MCP server for Claude and other assistants

The superPDF command-line tool gives AI assistants such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor a set of PDF tools on your Mac: merge, split, read text, protect, unlock, repair and run pipelines. Your own scripts can call the same operations through a private API that only this computer can reach, or run them as Terminal commands. It reads and writes only in folders you allow, never overwrites a file, and installs with npm from October 14, 2026, as a free tool under the Apache-2.0 licence.

  1. From October 14, install it in Terminal with npm install -g @superpdf/cli.
  2. Add superPDF to your assistant’s MCP settings, naming the folder it may use.
  3. Put PDFs in that folder and ask your assistant to merge, split or protect them.
