About superPDF

superPDF handles big PDFs in your browser, tested with 1 GB files and 2,000-page documents, and adds AI: Chat with PDF, PDF agents, an MCP server, a REST API and a CLI. It is free.

What it does

  • PDF tools. Merge, split, compress, convert, edit, sign, redact and protect PDFs, and run OCR on scans. The features page lists every tool.
  • Chat with PDF. Ask questions about a document. Answers cite the pages they come from, so you can check them.
  • PDF agents. Describe a multi-step job, such as combining, labelling and compressing files. The agent plans the steps, waits for your approval, and you can undo any step.
  • AI on your device or with your own key. AI features use an on-device model, or your own API key (BYOK) from an AI provider you choose.
  • MCP server, REST API and CLI. AI assistants, your scripts and the terminal can use superPDF tools on your computer, only in the folders you allow (available from October 14, 2026).

Where it works

superPDF works in the browser on computers and phones. iOS app coming soon.

How it handles your files

superPDF works on your files in your browser. Your files are not uploaded to superPDF.

With a model on your device, nothing about your document leaves it. If you use your own AI key, your question and the document text go from your browser straight to that provider, not through superPDF.

Cost

superPDF is free to use. You don't need an account.
