PDF to mind map
Map sections and processes as diagrams.
Draws a mind map of the sections of a PDF, and a flowchart of the steps in any section you pick.
How to use it
- Choose a PDF and select Map sections. The mind map shows the document’s sections with their pages. Drag to move, scroll to zoom, and select a circle to fold or unfold a branch.
- Download the mind map as SVG, PNG, a standalone HTML page, or a Markdown outline.
- For a flowchart, set up AI once in Chat with PDF, pick a section and select Draw flowchart. Download it as SVG, PNG or Mermaid code.
Output
The mind map as SVG, PNG, a standalone HTML page or a Markdown outline, and each flowchart as SVG, PNG or Mermaid code.
Where the sections come from
From the PDF’s bookmarks when it has them; otherwise from headings, found as text larger or bolder than the body text (the same outline PDF to text exports as JSON). A PDF with neither has no mind map, but you can still draw a flowchart of a group of pages.
Flowcharts
The AI reads the section’s text (up to about 6,000 characters) and writes its steps and decisions as a flowchart. superPDF keeps only the diagram from the reply, checks that it can be drawn, and asks the AI once to fix it if it can’t. The flowchart’s Mermaid code is shown under the picture.
Limits
superPDF sets no file size or page limit. Headings are guessed from font size and weight, so a document with unusual styling can give a flat or noisy map; bookmarks give the best result. A flowchart can miss or merge steps, or draw a sequence for a section that describes no process, so check it against the section. Downloads of the mind map include the branches that are open on screen.
Scanned pages
Scanned pages, including copier scans whose text layer is weak or garbled, are read with the quick reader first (the AI tools run OCR PDF for you), so you get a result straight away. On computers that can run it, superPDF then offers high-accuracy reading beside the result, and improves those pages in the background: in Chat and Ask multiple PDFs the pages behind your latest question come first and new questions use the improved text; elsewhere, Run again with the improved text redoes the result. It runs on this device: nothing leaves it, and it works offline once downloaded. Download: 871 MB, once, only when you choose it; delete it any time in On-device AI models. Speed: about 10 to 30 seconds a page on a recent computer (the offer shows the time for your pages); up to 20 pages are read at a time unless you choose more or pick pages. It reads English and other European languages best; check results in other scripts, and like any OCR it can misread faded or handwritten text. Running page headers, footers and page numbers are left out of the text. If anything goes wrong, the quick result stays, with a short note. See High-accuracy reading.
Privacy
The mind map is drawn in your browser with no AI. The flowchart uses the AI you chose in Chat with PDF: with a model on this device, nothing leaves it; with your own API key, the text of the section goes from your browser straight to your provider.
